the thing about the influences this game cites - like memento - is that in the end, they make sense and you don't need to spend your time theorizing about the most basic parts of the plot. I'll tell you what it is - it's all meaningless theory-bait garbage. but then what's the meaning of the like, the first two third of the game? and if it all is inside the man's head - then what /exactly/ happened in reality? did he /really/ kill his own father? then there's a gaping hole in the fact that his wife and him MET at the new year's eve party, which means he couldn't have been present at all for the murder. it just feels like a cop out - "this thing just happened in the character's mind" to explain away any inconsistency, but the minuscule amount of stuff that /does/ make sense - well, that must've happened for real. In the end i found the plot nonsensical anyway, though.

I think dafoe only being credited as "father" is just a play on the fact that both characters are father figures - but different people, otherwise the whole plot collapses in on itself.
